Information Communication Technolgy (I.C.T.)



Key Stage 3

During KS3 students learn and develop existing skills using a range of programs. The aim is to enable students to use ICT to help develop as independent learners in all subjects.

Students do the majority of their work Microsoft Office. They also use some graphics, control and animation software.

During Year 9 students receive a school email account and subsequently learn how to use it.

ESafety is an important aspect of the ICT curriculum and at least 10% of the curriculum is spend on learning how to be safe while using the internet.


Key Stage 4

During KS4 students use their skills and understanding of Information Communication Technology to gain some accredited qualifications.

Year 10 students are entered to do an OCR Vocational Entry Level 3 in Using ICT.

In Year 11 Students do OCR Functional Skills in ICT where they can achieve:

 Entry Level 1 to 3

 Level 1 (GCSE G - C)

 Level 2 (GCSE C - A*)
