Art
The Art department encourages all pupils to experiment with ideas and materials, by introducing them to the varied work of artists, crafts persons and designers from all cultures. Traditional skills in drawing, painting, ceramics and sculpting are taught; but the curriculum will also encompass new modern approaches and methods in 2D and 3D design. Future plans include, ongoing development of ICT, Photography and printmaking.
In Year 11 all pupils have the opportunity to take the AQA Entry Level Certificate in Art and Design, in which, we have had consistent success over the last two decades.
Art enables students to develop their skills and imagination and to become more visually aware of the world in which they live.
